Supermicro Introduces High-Performance Gaming Server

Supermicro, a leading provider of total IT solutions for cloud, AI/ML, storage, and 5G/Edge, has unveiled its latest offering in the form of a powerful server designed to meet the growing demands of the digital era

The new server, known as the AS-3015MR-H8TNR, is part of the Supermicro MicroCloud series and incorporates the advanced capabilities of the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors.

This cutting-edge server solution provides IT and data centre owners with a scalable and high-performance platform to cater to a wide range of applications, including E-commerce, cloud gaming, code development, content creation, and virtual private servers.

With the rise of cloud computing and the increasing need for processing power and storage, organisations require robust and efficient servers to handle their workloads effectively. The Supermicro MicroCloud AS-3015MR-H8TNR server addresses these demands by harnessing the power of the latest "Zen 4" core architecture from AMD.

Featuring a max boost speed of up to 5.7 GHz, PCIe 5.0 support, DDR5-5200 MHz memory, and up to 16 cores (32 threads) per CPU, this server is optimised for server usage and ensures exceptional performance in various applications.

Michael McNerney, Vice President of Marketing and Security at Supermicro, said: "We are expanding our application optimised server product lines to include the latest AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors. These new servers from Supermicro will give IT administrators a compact and high-performance option in order to offer more services with lower latencies to their internal or external customers."

By collaborating closely with AMD to optimise the Ryzen 7000 Series firmware for server usage, Supermicro can deliver innovative solutions with advanced technologies, such as PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory, to the market faster. This enables organisations to reduce costs and provide cutting-edge solutions to their clients.

The Supermicro MicroCloud AS-3015MR-H8TNR server is part of a 3U enclosure that houses eight blades, each containing an optimised AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processor. The server supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory and operates with a TDP of up to 170W. Moreover, the MicroCloud system facilitates efficient and uninterrupted operation by sharing cooling and redundant power supplies across all eight blades. This consolidation optimises space utilisation and enhances overall system performance.

One of the notable features of the Supermicro MicroCloud AS-3015MR-H8TNR server is its ease of use and management. IT departments can quickly set up dedicated hosting or multi-instance environments for workloads such as web hosting, cloud gaming, and remote and virtual desktops. The physical nodes and rear I/O are easily accessible, and the server provides a flexible remote management interface, including a dedicated IPMI port for the eight nodes. This streamlined management capability ensures smooth operations and enables IT administrators to efficiently handle their infrastructure.

John Morris, Corporate Vice President of the Enterprise and HPC Business Group at AMD, highlighted the collaboration with Supermicro, commenting: "AMD works closely with Supermicro to bring innovative products to market that enable customers to reduce costs while increasing performance for a wide range of workloads. The Supermicro MicroCloud offers customers a compact, low latency solution that can meet the demands of many data centre operators seeking a successful digital transformation. The AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors set a new standard for performance in a compact form factor for cloud and dedicated hosting environments."

To conclude, Supermicro continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for data centre and IT infrastructure needs. This high-performance server enables organisations to leverage the latest technologies and achieve optimal results in various application scenarios, ultimately driving their success in the digital age.
