- Work as part of an operations team to deliver the logistics for a large-scale international exhibition, taking ownership of the delivery of a variety of key tasks assigned to the Operations Manager role.
- Work across multiple projects at the same time, for example, side events in the run up to the event, management of special areas (eg IFA Next, Gala dinner)
- Manage event operations budgets, future planning, and forecasting in line with budget expectations and report to the line manager.
- Supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and management of relationships with venue services and key contractors.
- Able to manage large scale signage design and fulfilment, complex registration planning and execution, several side events with critical industry partnerships.
- Collaborate with the event team including customer success, content, marketing, PR, sales, and finance to ensure maximum awareness of all event elements.
- Able to think outside the box and come up with innovative ideas.
- Timely and clear communication with customers.
- Ensure delivery and fulfillment of all sponsorship and exhibitor packages as sold by the portfolio stands, branding, branded items, features, etc.
- Design and manage floor plans.
- Manage the tender process when appointing suppliers.
- Responding quickly and calmly to requests from visitors, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors’ pre-event and onsite. The ability to remain calm in high-pressure environments is important.
- Consideration and management of health and safety issues and decisions.
- Accurate and timely communication of cash flow for all operations costs, ensuring internal payment processes are followed and payments are made on time.
- Methodical filing and record keeping.
- Post-show evaluation and development.
- Attend training courses as directed by the Line Manager.
- At all times representing IFA Management in a professional manner.
