In particular, Hand Sign Talk Talk, an AI sign language translation service, is a service that uses AI technology to guide Korean sentences into sign language through a 3D avatar. Hand Sign Talk Talk is designed to enable hearing impaired people to communicate smoothly and participate in society. This is a service that translates information related to daily life, such as public institutions, hospitals, and banks, into sign language. Handsign Talk Talk was born from a deep understanding of the communication challenges faced by the hearing impaired and deaf community. Research shows that 50%-80% of deaf or hearing-impaired individuals experience reading difficulties, due their inability to hear and differences between signed and written languages. Currently, in places like Seoul there is only one interpreter for every 200 deaf individuals, severely impacting people's ability to participate in every day life. Handsign Talk Talk's development was further inspired by recent changes to South Korean law, that mandate the availability of sign language enabled public services. Handsign Talk Talk stands out as by tackling a critical lack of human interpreters and digitally embedded sign language translation options. By seamlessly translating text or speech into sign language, in real time across and across multiple device types, it improves inclusivity and accessibility in places like public institutions, hospitals, banks, and beyond.
