Life Below Water Sustains Life Above Water Free The Sea is a purpose-driven subsidiary of the WIK Group dedicated to creating lasting social and environmental impact. Our mission begins with addressing ocean-bound plastic waste through innovative recycling and upcycling processes. Our operations are centered in the Riau Islands, starting on the island of Batam, Indonesia, where we have established a comprehensive plastic waste collection ecosystem and upcycling infrastructure. Product Lines: Our FTS Rescued Plastic® series is crafted from locally collected, single-use PET bottle waste. The waste material are sorted, washed, and upcycled into FTSPET®, a high-quality recycled feedstock suitable for various injection molding applications, including electric and electronic appliances. This series is available in black and natural, with a minimum of 89% recycled content. FTS Circular Plastic Series: Our FTS Circular Plastic series offers a sustainable alternative to virgin ABS engineering plastics. Leveraging our R&D capabilities and extensive operational experience, we transform single-use PET bottle waste into PETRABS® resin. This engineering plastic feedstock is proven to be suitable for use in electrical and electronic products. PETRABS® is available in a range of colors including black, jet black, white, arctic grey, dark grey, and anthracite, containing a minimum of 85% recycled content. At Free The Sea, we are committed to fostering community engagement and environmental stewardship through several key initiatives: Ethical Waste Collection: We run an ethical waste collection ecosystem where local communities are encouraged to bring in plastic waste in exchange for incentives designed to support their livelihoods. With our 22 collection points across the island, we aim to reduce ocean plastic pollution but also provides tangible benefits to the participating communities. Mangrove Ecosystem: We manage a mangrove forestation area where we have planted 40,000 mangrove trees. A portion of our revenues is reinvested to sustain this critical ecosystem, which supports coastal protection, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration. Coastal Cleanups: To further minimize waste leakage into the ocean, we organize regular coastal cleanups. These events mobilize local volunteers and raise awareness about the importance of keeping our coastlines clean and free of waste.
