James Purcell
James Purcell is an author, lecturer and sustainable finance practitioner. Born in Brighton, United Kingdom, his career has taken him through major financial cities, including London, Hong Kong and Zurich.
He is currently the Group Head of Sustainable Frameworks at Credit Suisse. In this role, he and his team coordinate the firm's approach to sustainable investing and lending. Previously, James was the Group Head of Sustainable, Thematic and Impact Investing at Quintet Private Bank, a privately held bank operating out of 50 cities across Europe. Earlier in his career he was a managing director at UBS, where he spent more than a decade. James is simultaneously employed by ESCP Business School, where he runs a course on Sustainable Finance.
?James graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA (honours) in Modern History and graduated from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with an MBA (high honours). He lives in Zurich, Switzerland with his young son and spends his summers on a paddle board and winters in the mountains.
