While the adoption of AI in the commercial sector has boomed, its application to solving major environmental, humanitarian, and social problems has remained limited. This is largely because NGOs working on these issues have struggled to adopt new technologies like AI and have limited access to skilled AI and Data Science professionals. In this talk, we highlighted several use cases demonstrating how AI has been used to tackle some of the world's pressing humanitarian and environmental challenges. We also explored ways to support the nonprofit sector in applying AI for the benefit of all by building a strong network of volunteer AI professionals. This valuable discussion remains a key resource for those interested in leveraging technology for social good.
